Woman in Clean Energy (WICE)

During the World Green Economy Summit, October 6th a side event was held to bring together men and women in the clean tech industry. This was organized by MENA Clean Energy Business Council with WICE (Women in clean energy). There were a number of speakers who discussed the fact that women were at least 80% the decision makers in the home and therefore can play a large role in reaching sustainable living goals.

Officiating at the event was Sarah Fitzgerald, General Manager, Clean Energy Business Council. Among the speakers were HE DR Nasser Saidi, Chairman CEBC and former Minister of Economy & Trade, Lebanese Government, Kishan Khoday, UNDP Team Leader in the Arab Region spoke about Climate change and social vulnerability, also speaking was Majda Soussi, Strategy & Communications, Qatar, Ridah Sabouni, MD, MENA, Energetics Incorporated and finally Razieh Ebrahimi, Founder & Managing Director, Middle East Investment & Management Consultancy.

A panel discussion took place to discuss Women in Clean Energy Economic Development & Climate Change, on the panel were Dr Basma El Zein, University of Business & Technology, Saudi Arabia, Luciana Soledad Ledesma, Manager Innovation & Creativity, DEWA, Eng. Lamya Abdel Hady, Head of Sector Private Projects, Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, LeAnne Graves, Energy Correspondent, The National and Graeme Sims, Executive Director, RSB Dubai. A lively discussion and debate took place hosted by Ridah Sabouni.
