Green Touches ecological cleaning services’ continued social responsibility to the environment supports Earth Day 2016.
Today our donation to Trees For The Earth, an initiative by Earth Day Network, enables the world’s impoverished communities to sustain themselves and the local economies while combating climate change. Every tree counts #Trees4Earth.
The Earth Day movement was founded in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, US Wisconsin senator and recipient of the highest honour given to civilians in the United States, The Presidential Medal of Freedom. The movement went global in 1990 mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries and giving the environmental issue world stage prominence. This helped to pave the way for the 1992 United Nations Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro.
Todays Earth Day – April 22nd 2016 is one of the most important in years as leaders from 160 countries will officially sign the Paris Climate Agreement.
The deal was thrashed out in Paris last December in order to stem global warming.
